Hello! I am Melissa Nigh, owner and teacher at Melissa’s Music Makers. I have been teaching music for 28 years and have been teaching Let’s Play Music since 2010, Sound Beginnings since 2012, Bridge since 2017 and Presto since 2018. This last year I became an online facilitator for the online Let’s Play Music program as well. I have played the piano since I was 9 years old. I played the oboe in middle school and high school, and I am a vocalist as well.
I love connecting with people through music. The intimate connection that happens when you make music with other people is magical! It is can be so therapuetic and healing to our souls when we make music together. My ultimate purpose is to help families create a culture of music making in their homes so that they can feel the magic with their children.
Let’s Play Music became the avenue to make this happen. I found Let’s Play Music through a facebook post from a friend that was teaching the program and looking to recruit students. I was instantly drawn to the method as it matched everything I believed music education should be. I applied that very day and started my training two weeks later. I have continued to teach Let’s Play Music through four out of state moves, starting over in every area to build my studio as well as recruit other teachers.

My husband and I have been married for 29 years, we have seven children, four in law children, five grand babies, and two dogs. We love camping, playing card games, and watching period dramas. We have called Albuquerque, New Mexico home for the past two years and are enjoying the weather, the mountains, and the people.
